FAQ'S

Got questions? We’ve got answers.

  • What are cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are a group of fatty compounds found in hemp but also produced by other plants and the human body. They are the primary chemical compounds produced by the cannabis plant.

Hemp can produce more than 100 different phytocannabinoids naturally. Of the 100+ non-intoxicating phytocannabinoids, Cannabidiol (CBD) is the most widely known. Others include Cannabigerol (CBG), Cannabichromene (CBC), Cannabinol (CBN) and, more.

Izzy Cannabidiol full-spectrum extracts tap a unique assortment of hemp's phytocannabinoids, plus terpenes, flavonoids, and other valuable hemp compounds to help support the body. *

Cannabinoids interact directly or indirectly with the Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which is present in all living beings except insects.

  • What is cbd

CBD (short for cannabidiol) is the most prominent phytocannabinoid found in the hemp plant. It is recognized for its multiple benefits for humans and animal companions alike. CBD is non-psychoactive, non-toxic, and taps into the receptors in the human endocannabinoid system- a vast network of receptors that help maintain the body’s overall wellness and support many physical processes.

  • What is the difference between marijuana and hemp

Hemp and Marijuana are both types of the Cannabis plant but have a key difference: THC (the compound that causes a euphoric “high”). Our products are sourced from organic hemp, which has high amounts of naturally occurring CBD and low amounts of THC (below 0.3%). Marijuana contains high amounts of THC and low amounts of CBD, which is not preferable for CBD production.

  • What is the difference between full spectrum, broad spectrum, and CBD Isolates?

Full spectrum hemp extracts are made when you extract the hemp plant and do not remove any plant material in the process. That means that full spectrum extracts include the naturally occurring compounds found in the hemp plant. These compounds may include cannabinoids, terpenes, fatty acids, flavonoids, vitamins and minerals. Full spectrum hemp products typically do include very small amounts of THC (<0.3% as required by law) as it is naturally found in the hemp plant.

You may have heard about the Hemp Entourage effect which is the belief that hemp products are most effective when they are made from full spectrum extraction methods as the chemicals in the hemp plant work together synergistically.

Broad spectrum hemp extracts are typically made using a full spectrum extraction process but the THC is removed. This may be a good option if you’re getting drug tested.

CBD Isolates are created by isolating out just the CBD from the hemp plant. Again, a potential good option for someone being drug tested.

While these definitions are generally true, always check the specific definitions being offered by a company to confirm as it can vary from brand to brand.

  • What is the hemp entourage effect?

The Hemp Entourage Effect is a term used to describe the synergy that exists when the different components of the hemp plant – including CBD, THC, terpenes and more – work together.

To achieve the Hemp Entourage Effect, a product must be full spectrum meaning that plant compounds have not been removed or added during manufacturing. All of our products are full spectrum.

  • How does CBD interact with my body?

CBD interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system and can help by inhibiting the enzyme that breaks down your body’s endocannabinoids. This gives you a boost by increasing the number of endocannabinoids in your system.

  • Is hemp seed oil the same as hemp/cbd oil?

No, there is a big difference between the two! Hemp seed oil is from the pressed seeds of the hemp plant. While nutritious, hemp seed oil does not contain any great number of cannabinoids.

Hemp CBD oil is made from an extract of the hemp plant that is then blended with a carrier oil. We extract our CBD from the flower of the hemp plant.

  • Can I take CBD oil while on medication?

Since we are not medical professionals, we recommend that you consult with your physician or pharmacist prior to using any cannabinoids.
